Since the company was founded in 1972 by Leander Nocchi, everything at the Italian company has revolved around motorbike helmets. The high and consistent quality, as well as the constant technical developments and innovations, make the company from the province of Bergamo one of the largest helmet manufacturers in Europe. Hardly any other motorbike helmet manufacturer succeeds so well in incorporating the knowledge gained from professional racing into the series production of its helmets.

Nolan is one of the few manufacturers to rely on an integrated production chain with a high level of vertical integration. From the initial idea/blueprint to production and the in-house test department:

Helmets of the Nolan brand and the sister brand X-Lite are developed and manufactured in the company's own factory and undergo comprehensive quality tests there. Every year, the successful Italian company produces over 350,000 helmets with a team of 340 employees.
