Choke cables

The choke cable is a component that allows the rider to operate the choke mechanism on the motorbike. The choke is used to enrich the mixture of air and fuel during cold starts for better combustion.

This consists of a flexible steel cable that runs from the choke lever on the handlebar to the choke mechanism on the carburettor or fuel injection system. Pulling or pushing the choke lever activates or deactivates the choke.

When starting the engine at low temperatures or after a long period of standing, the choke cable should be pulled to enrich the mixture. This improves the ignition of the fuel-air mixture and makes the engine run more stably.

The choke cable should be checked regularly for wear or damage. Smooth operation of the choke cable is important to ensure reliable functioning of the choke mechanism. If necessary, the choke cable should be replaced or serviced according to the manufacturer's specifications.
