Oschersleben
The Oschersleben race weekend started for Beate, Sarah, Walter, Flo, Josh and Rolf on Thursday with a visit to our sponsor Stein-Dinse in Braunschweig.
Many thanks to Carsten and Vico for the detailed tour of an impressive company. The opinion of the team members was unanimous: if Stein-Dinse were located in southern Germany, it would be our employer of choice.
Unfortunately, Friday began with extremely unstable weather conditions. Light drizzle watered the track, but too little for rain tyres and too much for slicks. As a result, training was not possible for a few groups.
Andi was one of several people affected by this track condition. On the run-out lap, he skidded over both wheels in a puddle with the 998 and ended up in the gravel. With a few courageous hammer blows and some new spare parts, the damage was quickly repaired.
A crash for Josh at the end of the second race on Sunday ended less favourably for the RRV450. It looks like a lot of work will be needed before the Aprilia is ready for action again.
Fortunately, both riders were uninjured.
Walter rode his Suzuki GSX-R 1100 exclusively this weekend, finishing the endurance test on Saturday in 9th place. The sprint stage on Sunday was ended by a technical defect on the last lap.
Andi finished 8th and 7th in the Superbikes and 4th and 3rd in the TopTwins.
In between, he and Flo fitted motorbike tyres for the paddock.
Flo came 15th and 11th on his Gladius 650.
Josh came 13th and 9th.
Rolf finished 8th and 7th in the 400cc races.
Unexpectedly for us, a team from MDR television arrived. Among other things, they filmed in our Stein-Dinse pit. The approx. 3-minute report can be found in the ARD media centre.
