It happens quickly on longer tours - it suddenly pours like a bucket.

No matter how water-repellent the motorcycle clothing is, even the highest quality textile suit will let moisture through at some point in such bad weather. It helps to always have rainwear with you and to pull it over your protective clothing if necessary.

So you are guaranteed to be 100% protected from wind and wet.

And once the rain has passed, the weather protection clothing can be stowed away again to save space.
