Why steel-flex brake hoses have better brake pressure than normal rubber hoses is actually quite simple.
Conventional rubber brake hoses expand under pressure, which can lead to a spongy pressure point. With braided steel brake lines, the surrounding wire braiding prevents expansion and thus ensures a much more precise pressure point and more accurate brake force measurement.
