The drum brake is a traditional braking system for motorbikes in which brake shoes are pressed against the inside of a rotating drum to slow or stop the vehicle.
It is known for its robustness and low maintenance requirements, but it offers lower braking performance and cooling compared to modern disc brakes.
Due to its design, the drum brake is less susceptible to dirt and water, making it suitable for certain applications such as off-road.
Despite their age, they are still used on some motorbikes, especially on classic or vintage models that want to preserve the authentic look and technology.
